After launching in 2018 in the high-end motor world, DBS Superleggera has been known as more than just a supercar from Great Britain. To put it frankly, as one who follows the news of the high-speed world closely, we rarely see a luxurious sports car brand who would invest so heavily in a supercar project as this one. (Of course, we are not talking about the brands who only gives us supercars exclusively.) But rather why not just pound out sports cars, luxurious sedans et cetera and send them all over the globe and gain billions of baht worth of profit instead? Would this not be a better business plan? However, this is not the vision of this particular motor brand from Britain who has their manufacturing base in the town of Gaydon, England. The name ‘Aston Martin’ was a combination of the founder’s surname, Lionel Martin and the geographic location of the company at Aston Hill, near Aston Clinton village in the county of Buckinghamshire, England.
Classy SUPERCAR
To call DBS the best series in the history of Aston Martin probably wouldn’t be wrong as this code has become the icon for all those who are infatuated with the beauty, the classic style, the luxury and the power in that sense, as each model in each decade was presented widely by the media of each era. The most prominent one of course, must be the super vehicle serving the stylish British spy from the MI6, James Bond. (DBS was introduced on screen in 2008.)
Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is the reflection of a successful man who has taste and outstanding character, bursting with personal charm. He who has an almost uncontrollable fierce side while still being playful, and remains a gentleman with his chivalry regardless of how time has changed. Just like how Aston Martin has remained their vision, concept of luxury and uniqueness through time.
Superleggera Body Design
2019 is the first time Thailand has the chance to appreciate the exquisite beast in the name of Superleggera. Translated from Italian to mean ‘Super light’, this addition to the DBS marque presents the manufacturing method of the light weight coachwork which is the main feature of the vehicle’s drive, combined with the speed enhancement design to merge with the best technology in the motor world.
The Superleggera boasts an aluminium structure combined with carbon fibre, is wider and stronger than any other Aston Martin ever made but lighter in weight than the DB11 by 30 kilograms. With its signature black lustrous hexagon grille and carbon fibre hood with ventilators, this element helps to reduce in weight and relieve the heat from the engine. As for the air extractors on the side of the body by the front wheels, this assists in the lifting force up front and directs the airflow out sideways towards the carbon fibre rear spoiler which works together with the double diffuser.

The tremendous power source of the Superleggera is presented by the V12 engine with 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged, giving 715 horsepower and a torque force of 900 newton-metre. (The most powerful ever in the history of manufacturing by Aston Martin.) The automatic gear features the 8 A/T transmission with the ZF paddle-shift installed between the rear wheels for balance. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h within 3.4 seconds and proudly boasts a top speed of 340 km/h. Be in control of every road condition with an independent chassis and a double wishbone suspension up front, multilink at the rear and an ADS (Adaptive Damping System) along with the shock-absorber. Carbon ceramic brake discs with 410mm in front and 360mm in the rear, completed with 21” Forged alloy wheels and Pirelli P Zero tyres, 265/35/21 in front and 305/30/21 bringing up the rear which was developed exclusively for this model.
The interior has been designed by a team of world-class designers who got together for this specific purpose. Their goal was to transpire the classy image with cutting edge technology, starting from the alcantara-covered steering wheel, a long paddle shift which will provide the one behind the wheel that gear-shift motion rhythm with speed, infotainment system and satellite navigation system presented on a TFT 8” screen, of which drivers can perform settings via touchpad or voice, or by motion with ease.
As for the seats, the most superior leather upholstery provides that sense of soft comfort of luxury. Premium audio entertainment system accompanies your every journey while individual customisation is available upon request.
