A Bucharest fashion house has set a Guinness World Record for the longest bridal train in history, beating the previous record held by a Dutch designer.

It took ten seamstresses 100 days to create the nearly 3km-long ivory train, which billowed high above a main boulevard in Romania’s capital on Tuesday as the bridal dress was displayed from a hot-air balloon, The Telegraph reports.

4,700 metres of taffeta, 5.5 metres of Chantilly lace, 45 metres of lining, 1,857 sewing needles and 150 spool threads were used in the creation of the gown and train.

The lace was imported from France, while taffeta and other fabrics were purchased from Italy, costing a total of 24,000 lei ($7,000).
