Import value increased to 279 Million Swiss Francs or a rise of 10.2% over 2017

Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry or FH has recently published the annual statistics for Switzerland’s watch export in 2018 where Thailand ranks as the 15th largest importer of Swiss watches by value.
Positively, the Swiss watch industry export value has seen a growth of 6.3% over 2017, thanks to a rally in the first half of the year which subsided in the latter half. Asia continues to be the largest importing region of Swiss watches, accounting for 53% of the overall market. Hong Kong ranks as number one in Asia and the world with 19.1% increase in Swiss watch import value. The United States of America follows as the second largest importer of Swiss watches with an increase in value of 8.2%. That growth is offset by the decline in some European markets such as Spain where the import value dropped as much as 11.4%. Our Thailand emerges as the 15th largest importer of Swiss watches with a value of 279 Million Swiss Francs or a 10.2% rise over 2017. This report does not take into account whether the final buyers are locals or tourists.
Wristwatches account for 95% of the total Swiss watch export in 2018 or roughly 19,900 Million Swiss Francs. The value has risen by 6.1% while the volume dropped 2.3% to 23.7 million units or 570,000 fewer units than 2017. Consequently, that means the value per unit is higher, reflecting other indications such as the 5.0% decline by value of export of watches priced under 500 Swiss Francs against the 8.1% increase in export value or 7.5% increase in export volume of those priced above 500 Swiss Francs. These figures show that the Swiss watch industry has recovered quite well from two years ago. Nevertheless, the market will continue to be affected by any interfering global economic and political factor. ทวีปเอเชียยังคงเป็นภูมิภาคที่นำเข้านาฬิกาจากประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์มากที่สุดโดยมีสัดส่วนสูงถึง 53% ของตลาดทั้งหมด ซึ่งฮ่องกงนั้นครองอันดับหนึ่งในแถบเอเชียและของโลกด้วยยอดการนำเข้านาฬิกาสวิสที่มูลค่าเพิ่มขึ้นถึง 19.1% ในขณะที่สหรัฐอเมริกานั้นก็เติบโตไม่แพ้กันโดยรับนาฬิกาสวิสเข้าไปมากเป็นลำดับที่สองของโลก คิดเป็นมูลค่าที่เพิ่มขึ้น 8.2% ซึ่งการเติบโตของอเมริกานั้นก็เรียกว่ามาทดแทนกับยอดตัวเลขที่ลดลงของตลาดอย่างทวีปยุโรปก็ว่าได้ ประเทศที่มียอดนำเข้านาฬิกาสวิสลดลงสูงสุดของทวีปยุโรปคือประเทศสเปนที่มีมูลค่าหายไปถึง 11.4% สำหรับประเทศไทยของเรานั้นเป็นผู้นำเข้านาฬิกาสวิสอันดับที่ 15 ของโลก มีมูลค่าการนำเข้า 279 ล้านฟรังก์สวิสหรือสูงขึ้นจากปี ค.ศ. 2017 ถึง 10.2% ทั้งนี้ รายงานดังกล่าวไม่มีการติดตามว่าผู้ซื้อในท้ายที่สุดเป็นชาวไทยหรือชาวต่างชาติเช่นนักท่องเที่ยว
นาฬิกาข้อมือมีสัดส่วนการส่งออกอยู่ที่ 95% ของอุตสาหกรรมนาฬิกาสวิสทั้งหมดในปี ค.ศ. 2018 คิดเป็นมูลค่าราว 19,900 ล้านฟรังก์สวิสหรือเพิ่มขึ้น 6.1% แต่หากดูที่จำนวนเรือนแล้วกลับลดลง 2.3% หรือส่งออก 23.7 ล้านเรือนซึ่งเมื่อเทียบกับปี ค.ศ. 2017 แล้วลดลงไป 570,000 เรือน นั่นหมายความว่ามูลค่าต่อเรือนที่ผู้บริโภคซื้อนั้นสูงขึ้นด้วย อันสอดคล้องกับตัวเลขที่บ่งชี้ว่านาฬิการาคาต่ำกว่าเรือนละ 500 ฟรังก์สวิสมียอดส่งออกลดลง 5.0% เมื่อคิดตามจำนวนเรือนในขณะที่นาฬิการาคาเรือนละ 500 ฟรังก์สวิสขึ้นไปมียอดการส่งออกมากขึ้น 8.1% เมื่อคิดตามจำนวนเรือนหรือเพิ่มขึ้น 7.5% เมื่อคิดตามมูลค่า
